Giuseppe Cribiù and Regina Zaffaroni, husband and wife, founded Crizaf in Gerenzano.

Like many companies founded at that time, the business began with great sacrifice and much hope in the future. All the processes were purely mechanical and for third parties: the Company produced pallet trucks and worked for Ferrovie Nord Milano.

The first relocation of the company: from Saronno to Turate, in the province of Como. To meet the growth of the business, a larger building was purchased and the entrepreneurial vision was expanded, opening up to more complex and customised projects based on clients’ needs. Brothers Oreste and Leonardo became the driving force and core of Crizaf and its unstoppable development.

It was a turning point year. The opportunity came from a friend and entrepreneur, Basilico, who operated in the sector of gift and fancy goods and housewares and had the need to transport pieces from the press to the next processing station. So the first Crizaf conveyor belt was born, which is still in operation at Cosmoplast in Turate.

The entrepreneurial spirit that had already been pushing Crizaf to cross national borders for years, and thanks to the quality of its products, reached France and Europe. At the same time, Crizaf participated in the Fiera Campionaria in Milan and other trade fairs: a visibility that contributed to build brand’s awareness and to consolidate its international presence.

Increasingly attentive to market developments and the needs of customers, Crizaf designed and produced the first drum separator.

A new facility was purchased in Gerenzano to house manufacturing and offices. The range of solutions was expanded: the first storage system, named “Pater Noster” was created. The Company started to grow in the European market (Germany, France, and UK) and the distributor network was consolidated.

The second family generation joined the company. Elena Cribiù was in charge of managing the administration and later held the (current) position of Human Resources manager.

A second production unit, with offices, was also purchased in Gerenzano. In the meantime, Claudia Cribiù joined her sister in the administrative department, a role she still holds to this day.

The expansion of the product range continued: Crizaf, first in the market, produced belt conveyors with an anodized aluminium structure.

To follow its customers closely, a branch office was opened in the United States, in Troy, near Detroit. A branch that organised and managed directly by Oreste Cribiù.

The Company’s technological innovation continued. The first vertical storage system was designed.

New entry into the company. Luca Cribiù, thanks to an innovative vision, managed and developed the technical departments, increasing corporate results and quality. He currently holds the position of Crizaf Chairman.

New projects were developed: innovative weighing and storage systems for the most varied sectors.

After the opening of the manufacturing site in the U.S. the company looked at South America where arrangements were made for the subsequent opening of a manufacturing site in Brazil. In addition, production and offices were moved to the current site in Saronno, where the large facilities were suitable to support business development.

The Brazilian plant in the state of São Paulo was opened. The range of products was expanded with the creation of conveyor belts with anodized aluminium belt: an innovation that will later lead to the creation of modular conveyor belts.

The Technical and manufacturing departments never stopped. Thanks to client feedback, a line of modular plastic belt conveyors was created.

2009 Supporting the company’s growth, a new building was constructed adjacent to the Saronno headquarters.

Crizaf’s expansion continued. A joint venture for opening of a new production facility in India, in the city of Ahmedabad, in the state of Gujarat, was set up.

To better meet the current and future needs of the market, Crizaf launched a newly developed product line: the C series. A combination of cutting-edge innovation and technical solutions, three of which were internationally patented since they used a special belt made exclusively for Crizaf. In subsequent years, the internal corporate structure was reorganised, focusing on digitisation.
